Recording Studio
OK, so maybe you're a musician, songwriter, or singer and you're browsing through the website and thinking, "What's the deal with all this commercial TV/radio stuff? I thought this was a recording studio." Well, guitarists, don't fret. Moko Productions has always been about the music. Whether you are a singer /songwriter, have a band, choir, sing karaoke, or play the kazoo, Moko Productions can help you sound your best and capture it on CD. We've recorded songs for artists who are beginners in the studio...as well as for seasoned recording artists. You'll find that our comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, and well trained, experienced "ears" will help you get a great sounding recording for a price that is more than reasonable.
Owner & producer/engineer, musician, Moses Kostamo, first got hooked on recording at age 16 after being invited to play keys on a session at a 16 track, basement studio in his hometown of Prince George, BC, Canada.
After graduating high school, Moses studied music at Friends University in Wichita, KS. Then he took a 2 year recording arts program at Columbia Academy of Radio, TV, and Recording Arts in Vancouver, BC. From there it was freelance engineering - working at various studios in Canada & the US, taking a position as Senior Production Engineer at Cornerstone Studios in Wichita, to eventually opening his own studio with a handful of borrowed mics, ADATs and mismatched chairs.
Currently, Moko Productions has a fine selection of mics (Neuman, Shure, Sennheiser, Audio Technica...) tube mic preamps, outboard gear from Lexicon, Antares, ART etc, Mackie powered studio monitors. ProTools and Digital Performer are the digital editing, mixing and mastering tools of choice. Ideally situated for singer-songwriters, the acoustically treated isolation booth is just large enough (10' x 10') for a drum set, with remaining scratch parts recorded in the 20' x 15' control room, or in the 100 sq/ft reception area. We have an Alesis QS8 digital piano/keyboard and a custom built ADavis acoustic guitar available for recording sessions.
